Here is a sampling of what some of our guests have said on TripAdvisor, AirBNB, Google+ VRBO and FaceBook:
Nicole and Amir’s place is an absolute one of a kind gem. Fantastic for a large group or family as everyone gets their private space. It feels like you take over a small neighborhood with three courtyards and three spaces that are connected around the spectacular vaulted ceiling dining and fireplace living halls. Location right in the old city is perfect, but it’s also off in its own alley so you have zero tourist foot traffic. Amir personally came to greet and settle us in, and was always available via text, and the only thing we wish for is more firewood, as it was rainy and cold couple of days and we couldn’t get enough of the fireplace room and red wine. The place is fully kosher friendly with separate sinks, and sets of dishes. We will be back for sure for a longer stay + Shabbat!
Nicole and Amir were a complete pleasure to work with. We were a large group traveling with young children and they were incredibly flexible with our arrival and departure times. The house was immaculate and Nicole and Amir both met us there to show us around and answer all of our questions. The house was spacious, beautifully appointed and in a perfect location. There was plenty of living space and our accommodations enhanced our thoroughly magical weekend.
This is by far the best place we have ever stayed with Airbnb. The house is in a beautiful location, with amazing views from the roof deck, but it's really the house itself that's amazing. The courtyard is beautiful, the stonework is gorgeous, the furniture and decor gorgeous and perfectly selected, and the whole vibe is just so perfectly suited for the place. It is absolutely beautiful.
That would have been more than enough for a 5 star review, but the proprietors went above and beyond to welcome us. They reached out in advance to make sure we knew where to go, advised us on parking our very large vehicle, were incredibly patient when we were delayed by hours due to car trouble, met us personally at check-in, showed us around the property, shared the story of how they had renovated the place, and gave us invaluable advice on where to eat and explore. At one point I asked about a local water hike (in Israel in August, you need a water feature daily!), and they advised us that the site was too dry then (something I couldn't have known without going there myself). They then suggested another natural swimming spot which we would absolutely never have found on our own (even though I'm fluent in Hebrew and have been to Israel dozens of times!)-- truly a local tip that made for a beautiful afternoon.
I can't say enough good things about this property and its owners. The only thing making me hesitate to praise this listing to the skies is that I selfishly want fewer people to reserve it, so that I can rent it again when I come back!

November 2021 - We recently hosted a lovely family who came together to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of their parents. Here is a video that they sent to us:

Blissful Experience. We were absolutely blown away when we entered the world of Villa Tiferet. The vaulted ceilings;crowning a 300 year old enclave from other times. We had a 50th anniversary Shabbos with all our Israeli based grandchildren. Sleeping accommodations were brilliant;a private annex for our granddaughters off one courtyard;a second floor sleeping quarters overlooking the principle courtyard for our grandsons! Villa Tiferet gave off authentic Tzefas vibes, so much so that the kids didn't roam the city streets Shabbos but were content to just bond in the atmospheric living room ..going without a 'SHLOFF'(nap) through till Motzei Shabbos. Thank you to our hosts..the sweetest couple you will find. Date of stay: November 2021 |
This space was perfect for our intergenerational family reunion. There are three completely separate sleeping areas (one a two-room suite, one with bathroom and kitchenette, one in main house) which each housed one of our families. Beds were super comfortable and extremely quiet at night; everyone had the best sleeps. We were 6 adults and 6 children and had plenty of room. Stairs to the upper suites and rooftop, so consider with very young children, though we managed fine with ours. The home itself is breathtaking and unique. It is a 400 year old structure, a true piece of history, and it immerses you in the experience and life of the city. On the rooftop with 360 degree views we enjoyed sunrise and sunset. Everything was done to perfection and sparklingly clean. Location could not be better, one minute walk to the artists colony and galleries, 5 minutes along beautiful stone walks to the winding ancient old city. Convenient to restaurants, shopping, main road. We walked everywhere. The pics do not do justice to this incredible place. Highly recommend.

We had a great stay. Our large family, with children and grand children from all ages, enjoyed it very much. Very large spaces, many various opportunities are available for spending quality time, all together or in smaller groups. Plenty of small details make the stay very comfortable and pleasant. Perfectly located. Many various shuls in walking distance. I recommend staying and Villa Tiferet, very warmly.
Villa Tiferet is a dream destination for many reasons. Amir and Nicole are thoughtful and gracious hosts. They are available to answer all questions and warmly facilitated our welcome on the day that we arrived. The home is nothing short of breathtaking. It is a beautifully restored villa with charming decor. From the lovely courtyard to the roof top with the magnificent view of Tzfat, it is an ideal vacation spot. There was more than enough room for our family of seven to sleep and eat comfortably. The bedrooms are large and the beds are superb. The kitchen and dining area are spacious and every single thing that you might need to cook a gourmet meal is available for your use. Tzfat is an excellent location for a trip to the North of Israel. We just completed a busy and fun filled tour through the Galil and Golan and wherever we ended our day, it was a reasonable distance away from Tzfat and therefore an easy return in the evening. In addition, there are many places to eat on the main street in Tzfat (Which is a five minute walk from the villa) that are open late at night and that makes catching dinner at any hour a possibility. Villa Tiferet is perfect for a relaxing and rejuvenating trip. It is not a five star destination- it a five hundred star destination!!
This villa is a unique and special experience to stay in. Let's start with the hosts and owners. Nicole and Amir are quality people who genuinely care that your experience in their home is ideal. They truly think of all the big and little things that make all the difference. They provide someone to meet you and literally escort you into the home.
Next, they have a fully stocked kitchen with any appliance and gadget you may need, and even the bathrooms have adequate shampoo soap and bath gel so you don't have to bring with. They even provide a complimentary bottle of wine for your arrival. Danny who let's you in gives an excellent tour of Tzefat and answers any questions you may have about the area, house, and where to obtain anything additional you may need. He is available, knowledgable and very nice. Next, the house. You feel as though you are stepping back in time to how royalty lived. The views from the MULTIPLE rooftops/balconies are breathtaking. The kitchen is state of the art with industrial gourmet appliances, granite counter tops and for those kosher travelers separate sinks and even ovens! The bathrooms are modern and the water pressure is excellent (better than at the best hotels!). Also, the house is spotless, something very important to us. The beauty of this property is hard to describe, and I will tell you that the photos do not even do it justice. It is a special, spacious, luxurious home, and if it is available when you are traveling north, my advice is to grab it! |
We had an excellent time in Tzfat thanks to Villa Tiferet. We are a family of six, and there were plenty of bedrooms to go around. The villa (mansion?) is immaculate, with beautiful architecture and tastefully decorated. We stayed in the summer and the multiple air conditioners worked superbly. The kitchen is well-outfitted with dishes and cooking equipment. The beds are extremely comfortable. There is plenty of room to read, relax, watch movies, sunbathe, etc, and the home is so spacious you may even forget anyone is there with you. Previously during our trip, we had stayed at the Waldorf Astoria in Jerusalem, and we felt we had gone up in quality coming to the Villa Tiferet.

This home was perfect for our family. It had everything we needed and was beautifully appointed. There was plenty of room for us to spread out with our four children and they loved all of the little nooks and crannies. Everything was prepared for us in advance and the owners were extremely accessible if we needed anything. Everything was clean and in excellent condition. We will certainly stay here on our next trip to Tzfat!
Would I recommend this vacation rental to my best friend? Yes. |
This property is a gem located within a stone's throw of the artist quarter and old city. The renovation modernized the villa but retained the charm of the original centuries old architecture. The place is ideal for a large family or several families looking to share the villa. You have every amenity available including a chef's kosher kitchen, spacious living areas, televisions, PlayStation for the kids, washer/dryer, and a furnished deck to take in the incredible sunsets!
Nicole, Danny and Amir made our stay even more relaxed and comfortable. They were proactive, courteous and responsive to every request.
Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer! I highly recommend extended time in Tsfat and using the villa as a base for day trips. Tsfat, the Judean Hills and Golan do not get their due. There is so much to do and beautiful places to experience! Villa Tiferat is the perfect place to stay.

It is like staying in a museum - however a most luxurious museum. The architecture & ambiance are breathtaking. We stayed with a family of six and had plenty of space everywhere. We enjoyed the fireplace and the cozy courtyard and on one evening it was already warm enough to watch the sunset from the roof terrace. Spectacular! Although the place has a historical feel, the kitchen is brand new and excellently equipped. We cooked kosher meals every day. Communication with Nicole and Amir was very pleasant, both by mail and on the phone, and their friend Danny, who lives next door, was very helpful and charming. It is a little piece of Eden on Earth! Thank you for sharing your wonderful house!
Originally, we wanted to stay at the Sea of Galilee as a base for our daytrips, but when we stumbled upon Villa Tiferet, we said "we want to stay there". And, after all, Safed makes an excellent base for daytrips to the Golan Heights, Tel Dan, Banias, Nimrod, Kaphernaum and many wineries in the area (we recommend Galil Mountain). And Safed is a most beautiful historical town, full of the Kabbala. On Amir's recommendation, we made an appointment with Avraham Loewenthal, an excellent Kabbalist artist just round the corner. An exceptional experience.

“This villa is one of our favorite places we've ever stayed! It's been meticulously renovated and updated, so that you have all the deluxe modern amenities inside of an ancient 400 year old villa. The hosts and their friends were so very helpful and took a lot of time explaining how a kosher kitchen worked (so interesting!). We left something in the villa, and they went above and beyond to get it returned to me. Very much appreciated!! The bedrooms are in separate buildings, so you must exit the main living space to access them. The master is by itself with a separate kitchenette and full bath. There are 2 bedrooms in another building, with a bath and washer and dryer. The 4th bedroom is the den, which is inside the main building. While a little inconvenient in bad weather, this arrangement lends itself to a private sleeping arrangement while having the benefit of a communal living space. The pictures don't do this villa justice - it is just beautiful and unique and very comfortable. A must stay and must return place!”

Our stay at the villa was a simple combination of magnificent surroundings, a dab of unique Tzfat, and a giant dash of truly kind, thoughtful hosts. The place? It's like no other. The pictures tell the aesthetic story, but what we also found was a keen eye for detail and the guest's needs in mind. Ex: a well equipped kitchen, ample towels, tissues, essentials. In the study/den wonderful reading selections, good toys for the kids, even an acoustic guitar my daughter played for us Saturday night. Unique Tzfat? Well...you just have to experience it for yourself. The stones have stories. Hidden. Lost. Sometimes found. But what makes any place great...? The people. Nicole and Amir were generous the way we hope to meet the people who come and go. We were set to check out on a Sunday morning, walk about the artists quarter leisurely and then head south for the rest of our trip. Unfortunately, our son was running a fever, a pile of six year old on the sofa. Walking around town became impossible and our ride was hours away. Amir was so understanding, allowing us to stay several hours past check out until our lift arrived. Unbelievably, he even offered to watch him so we could tour a little! Nicole was wonderful and caring as well. In short, we highly recommend it. This was our first airbnb experience. Bar raising, I think. |
