Ready for an adventure? Want to escape Israel’s summer heat? Then it’s time to go canyoning. The Black Canyon (Nakik Shachor) forms the central part of the Zavitan Stream in the Golan Heights.
Your day begins at the Yehudia Park main entrance. From here, your guide takes you off trail to a black basalt chasm that was once formed from volcanic stone. The canyon is wedged in by two vertical walls. A splashing waterfall, interrupted by deep, cool pools, will be your aquatic trail. A licensed guide will then assist you as you repel down three falls that range from 18 to 25 meters. Tired of the heat? No worries - ninety percent of the tour is spent in or near the water. Surrounded by lush tropical plants, you will even feel as if you are in a jungle and not in Israel! But the breathtaking views will be the indicator that yes, you are in the Golan. |
This is a full-day adventure. You need no prior experience and participants must be over 10 years old.
Come out and explore the only real wet canyon in Israel! |
